Are You Ready For Your Close Up? Let’s talk about facelift surgery.

facelift, or rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure that improves the overall appearance of the face, jaw or Jowles and neck.  A facelift can help with the signs of aging, stress and sun exposure.  This procedure should be performed by a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.  Dr. Chad Robbins in Nashville TN understands that these unwelcome changes can harm a person’s confidence. Facelift plastic surgery can alleviate many of these symptoms, helping a patient look like they did naturally in their younger years.

Facial Aging symptoms:Facelift in Nashville, TN

  • Relaxation of the skin of the face causing sagging
  • Deepening of the fold lines between the nose and corner of the mouth
  • Fat that has fallen or has disappeared
  • Jowls
  • Loose skin and excess fat of the neck that can appear as a double chin or “turkey neck”

Dr. Robbins goal with facelifts is to make his patients look younger and more refreshed by shifting more of the facial tissue than just superficial layers, which can create the “pulled” or obviously “lifted” look.

The most common question asked is, “can I have eyelid surgery and or my nose done at the same time as my facelift”?  The answer is YES and is common for these procedures to be performed together.

The difference between facelifts, mini facelifts and neck lifts can be explained like this:

  • When discussing a facelift, we’re referring to a procedure that has an impact on the cheeks, jowl and neck. It requires incisions placed in front of and behind the ear.
  • Mini-lifts are usually done for patients who have relatively minor concerns about their cheeks and jowl. They are often done to refresh a face that has had a facelift before.
  • A neck lift addresses neck skin, and involves an incision behind the ear and usually beneath the chin.
